Conclusion
For the last submission, Vincent told us he saw a huge improvement from the first version of the previs to the ast one.
In my opinion, I also felt I improved a lot along the development of this project, and we improved as a group and as a team.
First of all, I learned how to use Maya, and at the last stage of the project I was able to work fluently with the cameras. Second, I open my interest into previsualizations, and other new video formats which develops creativ econtect using 3D graphics, animation and videual effects for real life cinema.
In a group way, we learned better how to divide the work according to our skills. Also, as long as we knew more each other we got used to work together, adn we used to meet more to work at the same time, hich helped us a lot to ask each other’s opinion, help each other’s with the program use, and avoid corrections in the final output. Also, we highly improved our organization of the files, creating a folder system and a name code, naming the cameras and the files correctly. We started doing this as we noticed that the project was starting to be messy because of the lack of organization, and we would spend more time searching for files that naming it.
Over more, I think I learned a lot about storytelling. Storytelling is a really wide world, and when we study the theory we can think that we clearly understand the principles. But, when doing a story, it start becoming harder, and many doubts appear. Then, we find ourselves facing some stories which are not being understood, not understanding the reason. Having the feedback of Vincent was really valuable, because he has an excellent eye to catch what is the thing that goes wrong to make a scene go wrong, or discover which is the missing element in order to get a message understood. Therefore, I consider I learned a lot about storytelling, shots and cameras by listening to Vincent corrections, which I think it was the most valuable thing of this project. By correcting us, he teached in a way how to introduce scenes, characters, actions; how to transmit feelings with characters with no faces, and how to do a narration with no words. Once we managed to create a story with that difficulties, we are able to create a story everything.
Also, I was really happuy to be able to apply my knowledge in Nuke and visual effects in order to make our video look better and more realistic.
In conclusion, I am extremely happy to have had the opportunity to work in a team with my mates, learn from them and build something together as a team. Also, I am really grateful to Vincent, to offer us all his knowledge in order to learn with this project some valuable things that we are certainly going to be able to apply for the rest of our professional life.
To end up, I would like to thank Anto, Adrian and Zinab to their work in this project; and Vincent, Christos, Luke and Billie for their support along the whole process. This has been a huge opportunity and I really value what I have learned from it.
